آنکھیں مجھے تلووں سے وہ ملنے نہیں دیتے
ارمان مرے دل کے نکلنے نہیں دیتے
Aankhein mujhe talwon se woh milne nahi dete
Armaan mere dil ke nikalne nahi dete
خاطر سے تری یاد کو ٹلنے نہیں دیتے
سچ ہے کہ ہمیں دل کو سنبھلنے نہیں دیتے
Khaatir se teri yaad ko talne nahi dete
Sach hai ke humein dil ko sambhalne nahi dete
کس ناز سے کہتے ہیں وہ جھنجھلا کے شب وصل
تم تو ہمیں کروٹ بھی بدلنے نہیں دیتے
Kis naaz se kehte hain woh jhunjhla ke
Shab-e-wasl, tum to humein karwat bhi badalne nahi dete
پروانوں نے فانوس کو دیکھا تو یہ بولے
کیوں ہم کو جلاتے ہو کہ جلنے نہیں دیتے
Parwanon ne fanoos ko dekha to yeh bole
Kyun hum ko jalate ho ke jalne nahi dete
حیران ہوں کس طرح کروں عرض تمنا
دشمن کو تو پہلو سے وہ ٹلنے نہیں دیتے
Hairaan hoon kis tarah karoon arz-e-tamanna
Dushman ko to pehlu se woh talne nahi dete
دل وہ ہے کہ فریاد سے لبریز ہے ہر وقت
ہم وہ ہیں کہ کچھ منہ سے نکلنے نہیں دیتے
Dil woh hai ke faryaad se labrez hai har waqt
Hum woh hain ke kuch muh se nikalne nahi dete
گرمی محبت میں وہ ہیں آہ سے مانع
پنکھا نفس سرو کا جھلنے نہیں دیتے
Garmi mohabbat mein woh hain aah se maani
Pankha, nafs-e-sarv ka jhalne nahi dete
میری تقدیر موافق نہ تھی تدبیر کے ساتھ کھل گئی
آنکھ نگہباں کی بھی زنجیر کے ساتھ
Meri taqdeer muwaafiq na thi tadbeer ke saath khul gayi
Aankh-e-nigahbaan ki bhi zanjeer ke saath
کھل گیا مصحف رخسار بتان مغرب
ہو گئے شیخ بھی حاضر نئی تفسیر کے ساتھ
Khul gaya mus’haf-e-rukhsaar, butaan maghrib ho gaye
Shaikh bhi haazir, nai tafseer ke saath
